During July, the startup announced its early investment of $1.7 million to kick off the first location, upgrade its space, build logistical capabilities, and increase its team. Elevator was co-founded by Shannon and Emiliano Lerda.

Co-founder, Emiliano Lerda, says, “Co-warehousing meets the needs of a rapidly expanding segment of entrepreneurs and is a highly scalable business model. We’re proud to expand our locations to many locations around the United States.”

The four-story building opened with over 20% occupancy pre-sold, and is welcoming new members every week. The 56,000 square foot facility features 75 warehouses, 19 offices, underground parking, and over 7,000 square feet of shared space.

The building boasts a beautiful mix of industrial materials and historic brick inside and out, with stunning views of the Old Market from the top levels and rooftop deck. The space comes with high-end furniture from Hutch, a stocked kitchen, lobby music, and reception services, and is a unique co-warehousing space you’ve seen.

Co-founder Shannon Lerda was an e-commerce entrepreneur herself. “Co-warehousing fills a need for small and medium e-commerce companies. As a former e-commerce business owner, I personally understand the challenges these companies are encountering. I am moved by their stories of perseverance through adversity, and want to offer the support and resources they need to grow their business to the next level,” she said.

Elevator connects a community of e-commerce entrepreneurs, makers, and small businesses that were formerly operating from home. Skill-building and social events are organized at Elevator for members on a regular basis. The company also delivers on-demand labor to support small businesses that don’t need a full-time employee or find it difficult to finding workers.

One of the founding members, Stephen Toller of Motherboard, said, “Elevator is a fantastic spot and a great way to grow my business. I use their on-demand labor staff to handle operations so I can focus on growth.”
